Functional Massage is for the stubborn stuff a regular massage can't fix. Old injuries, recovery after surgery, a shoulder that won't move right, or pain that keeps coming back.
It starts with a quick assessment. I look at how you move and where it hurts, because the spot that hurts often isn't where the problem starts. Then I work the real cause by hand, with deep tissue, myofascial release, and trigger point work.
Think of it as a step up from a relaxation massage, built for complex injuries and movement that never came back right. Every session is matched to what your body needs, not a fixed routine. I'm a CMTO-registered RMT, and I bring it to your home across Durham Region.

Every Functional session begins with movement and postural screening. The place that hurts is often not the place causing the problem. The assessment finds the actual driver, and the session targets that.
Techniques used
After the assessment, I use the hands-on techniques your body needs that day. Myofascial release works the tissue that wraps your muscles. Trigger point therapy releases the tight knots that keep pain locked in. Deep tissue and stretching round it out.
Functional Massage at your home
This is mobile, in-home work. After a session that addresses a frozen shoulder, post-surgical recovery, or stubborn movement restriction, the last thing your body needs is a drive home through Durham traffic. I bring a massage table, fresh linens, and the full assessment to your door, anywhere from Pickering to Oshawa and north to Port Perry.
